Kay Al Ghani

K. I. Al-Ghani is a special educational needs teacher who has worked for more than 35 years in the field of education. She is currently a specialist teacher for inclusion support and is involved with training professionals, students and parents in aspects of ASD. As an author and a mother of a son with ASD – the illustrator Haitham Al-Ghani – she has spent the last 25 years researching the enigma that is autism.

K. I .Al-Ghani is an international author, University Lecturer, Specialist Advisory Teacher, Inclusion Consultant and Autism Trainer, with over 37 years experience in education.


Kay writes with her son, Haitham who has High Functioning Autism and who is an accomplished illustrator. Together they enjoy a unique creative partnership.
As well as her many books on ASD, Kay is the author of therapeutic picture books also illustrated by her son and published in the USA.
